KGF is a Kannada-language Indian film series that blends epic period drama and action, mostly set in the Kolar Gold Fields, from which the series gets its name. Created by Prashanth Neel and produced by Hombale Films, it stars Yash in the lead role, supported by an ensemble cast. The story takes place during the late 1970s and early 1980s, narrated through the eyes of Anand Ingalangi and his son Vijayendra Ingalangi. Vijayendra discusses an interview based on a book written by Anand, which details the life of Raja Krishnappa Bairya, also known as Rocky (played by Yash). Rocky, born in poverty in Mumbai, rises to become one of the most feared mercenaries of his time.
